Job OverviewThe Software Engineer works with a team of other software engineers, network and systems engineers to design, implement, and deploy software which meet customer's requirements, scales easily, removes the limitations of traditional networking solutions, and supports deployment in highly available environments. The Software Engineer participates and lead in architecture and design of various software components focused on creating applications that leverage technologies such as virtualization, micro services, SDN, NFV, and Big Data platforms and technologies. They work on technical assignments that are semi routine or greenfield in nature, but recognizes that need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. They normally follow established procedures on routine work and require instructions only on new assignments.

Job Responsibilities:
Technical Engineering Services
Supports engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations. Expected to supervise associate engineers on occasion.

Technical Writing
Writes basic documentation on how technology works. Contributes clear documentation for new code and systems used.
Documenting systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption at the engineer level.
Technology Strategy

Education:
Bachelor's Degree (Required)
Master's/Advanced Degree (Preferred)
Work Experience:
4-7 years Relevant experience. (Required)
Experience working in an Agile and DevOps environment. (Required)
Experience in one or more of: C, C#, Java, Perl, Python, Go, or scripting experience in Shell and Perl. (Required)
Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools, such as, Jenkins, Cloudbees, etc., and other automation tools. (Required)
Experience with DevOps tools, such as, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc. Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, etc. is preferable. (Preferred)
Experience in APM tool, like, AppDynamics, logging tool, like Splunk. (Required)
Experience working in a cloud environment (public/private). (Required)
Experience in migrating to cloud or cloud native environments' experience is preferable. (Preferred)
Git-based source code management systems (UI and/or CLI)
Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and PaaS (PCF - Cloud Foundry) as well as Container based systems (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, AKS, PKS)
Test Automation and Deployment Automation
Proficiency in Swift, Experience with Cocoa Pods and Core Data a plus
Automated testing of code, build pipelines and delivery
Experience in using REST API’s, managing authentication, tokenization, authorization and session management
Experience in logging, debugging and analyzing error logs with tools like Splunk
Proficiency in networking concepts such as DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, firewalls, etc.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
