As a Principal Technology Solutions Manager at T-Mobile, you will play a meaningful role in driving and crafting our Tax Technology transformation journey. This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative team as we advance the technology ecosystem that will support the future of our business. This role involves identifying, crafting, and implementing technology solutions on highly sophisticated, Tax-focused enterprise initiatives. Forms and governs process for scoping discussions, tech feasibility determination, technical visioning and setting the overall technical delivery strategy. The Principal partners with the business to drive prioritization and solution delivery approach within business processes, and across technology groups to ensure design and delivery of a complete and concise solution that addresses the business need.

Job Responsibilities:
Strategy
- Partners with the business teams to drive strategy, prioritization, approach, and goals of initiative for core systems.
- Prepares high level solution design presentations for leadership review.
- Functions as a key project decision maker integrate Vertex solutions with our business units
- Manages inception activities, including breakdown of business requests and technical solution scope definition.
- Partners with Senior leadership to define technology strategy approach for initiatives and to provide recommendations on scope delivery phasing/work streams.
- Ability to be able to provide current state assessments, identify and document platform/system impacts, technical debt and risks.
- Research and evaluate potential technology solutions, including software, hardware, and cloud services.
Project Management
- Serves as technical owner (accountable IT representative) and is responsible for technical stewardship of T-Mobile’s largest initiatives.
- Owns the delivery of large and sophisticated technology solutions by providing leadership in analysis, design, and project and product management.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, lead critical issues and trade-off discussions, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
- Owns scope decomposition and negotiation of MVP for large and complex cross domain initiatives. Skilled at breaking initiative down into manageable pieces.
- Performs day-to-day management of business partner relationships.
- Provides leadership in evolving design and orchestrates solutions across domain teams.
- Driving consensus across teams on technical and solution approach, including securing commitments on timelines.
Relationship and People Management
- Identifies, analyzes, and synthesizes information, applying critical thought to present the information in a clear and meaningful way.
- Leads across many IT teams, and Business to ensure clarity on assessment impacts in alignment with scope of business requests or dark project initiatives.
- Identifies solution and implementation process improvements, makes critical decisions, and works with domain experts and leaders throughout the organization to implement solutions.
- Multi-tasks while managing multiple projects from end-to-end, in a demanding and constantly evolving environment.
- Communicates technical and functional solutions using an effective, efficient, and creative approach. with a high degree of collaboration and influence.
- Effectively presents to senior level leadership.
- Accountable for technical solution delivery on initiatives, including scope negotiation, solution. alignment and timeline management.
- Works independently as well as collaboratively in order to enable team resources.
- Mentors and leads more junior level TSM resources.
Education:
- Accounting, Finance, Computer Science or Other Technical Subject area
Work Experience:
- More than 10 years Related working experience in IT, Technology Solutions, or Accounting Information Systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Indirect Tax Systems: Solid understanding of Indirect Tax Software solutions, preferably Vertex Tax products, and Tax boundary systems including ERP, eCommerce, Billing, Procurement and other financial systems.
- Technical Skills: Ability to build and maintain solution artifacts including but not limited to system architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, high level mapping documents.
- Cloud Technology: Understanding of IT Cloud infrastructure, including hardware, software and services.
- Leadership: Desire and Ability to help lead T-Mobile in Tax Platform Operations

Base Pay Range: $125,800 - $227,000Corporate Bonus Target: 20%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
