If you are a Lead Software Engineer with a passion for building and delivering innovative and robust products in the cloud, we would like to connect. Your Opportunity:
Sysdig is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to drive projects and inspire their teammates. You will play a key role in designing and building cutting-edge products and driving customer success through high-quality R&D level support when necessary, resulting in hundreds of happy enterprise customers and disrupting the monitoring and security space in the Containers World.
As a Lead Engineer, you will work closely with our Product team to understand requirements for new features and products in our Agent software, design solutions in collaboration with other Engineering teams, and engage with our Support team to enhance customer experience.
What you will do:
- Architect and develop high quality software in C++ on the Sysdig Agent
- Own both the roadmap and the customer experience for Sysdig Monitor Agent
- Write and approve functional specifications
- Perform code reviews and provide feedback to other team members
- Handle high-dollar-value customer escalations
- Collaborate effectively with engineers from multiple teams to solve complex problems to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Understand complex software components and use industry standard software development practices to continuously improve quality and capability
What you will bring with you:
- Expert in coding with C++
- 2 + years as either a technical leader or manager for a complex product
- Proven ability in representing the team to both internal and external stakeholders
- Deep knowledge of containers, AWS and other cloud ecosystems
- Ability to understand and work with other languages like Golang and Java
- Strong understanding of CI/CD processes
- Passion for building and delivering robust products
What we look for:
- Strong understanding of cloud software both as a developer and as a consumer
- Knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience working with highly scalable, multithreaded, performance optimized code
- Comfortable working with microservices
- Ability to switch contexts and programming languages to deal with complex problems
- Performance analysis and debugging skills

The U.S. annual base salary range for this full-time position is between $175,000 and $220,000 USD per year. Actual offers may be higher or lower than this range based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) the candidate’s work location, job-related skills, experience and education.
