Technical Engineer, Low Latency Trading Platform Your role A high-profile technical opportunity for engineers with proven experience in low-latency equities trading systems. We’re looking for a Technical Engineer to: • translate business and technology requirements for new functionality / venues / upgrades into technical changes within the low-latency trading stack • coordinate/manage technical changes with internal and external teams including vendors, stock exchanges, carriers and clients • work with aligned network and infrastructure teams to help make key decisions on the design of the network architecture based on application requirements • partner with production services team to provide third-level, platinum support for our clients • build relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues in all regions throughout APAC • co-operate with global teams developing and socializing best practice and standards • build strong relationship with various regional/global technology and business stakeholders Your team You’ll be working in the APAC Quant Solutions team, one of the fastest paced business units in Electronic Trading. We deliver tailor-made ultra-low latency trading solutions to our clients across the globe. The team is responsible for the delivery of high-quality solutions for the business and its clients, remaining on the forefront of exchange technology across APAC markets. In our agile operating model, team members fulfill varied roles within the SDLC providing the opportunity for front-to-back ownership of deliverables from incubation and requirement gathering through to delivery. The Quant Solutions business provides low and ultra-low latency Co-Located solutions to its clients servicing markets including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan. This is a growing team dispersed across Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Pune comprising of application and infrastructure specialists. Your expertise  • strong Python and Unix skills (especially Linux) including shell scripting • strong FIX messaging experience within an electronic trading capacity • familiar with broad areas of trading technology (including FPGA, low-latency networks, low-latency application development and exchange protocols such as OUCH, Arrowhead, HKEX CCCG & OCG) • expertise in Equities Trading platforms and the Trading Life Cycle (Low-latency trading, co-location setup) • experience with systems across front, middle, and back office • experience working with stock exchanges and the management of trading & market data infrastructure • excellent communication skills to interface with business sponsors, clients and third parties • ideally 5 years of experience in a similar position focused on electronic trading within the finance sector
