Senior Platform Engineer

We seek a skilled and motivated Senior Platform Engineer who will develop and maintain our Internal Development Platform (IDP) and related tooling, relentlessly focused on making the software development process quick and painless.

You will be dedicated to improving the developer experience, supporting developers and site reliability engineers in their efforts to deploy solutions quickly and efficiently with reduced cognitive load. At your disposal will be tools, automation, workflows, and your own skills to reduce repetitive development tasks, increase productivity, abstract configurations, streamline testing, and simplify pipelines. 

As a Platform Engineer, you will balance your engineering work with product owner responsibilities by conducting research, seeking feedback, and gaining buy-in across the organization in your relentless pursuit of improving the developer experience- oftentimes by way of a continuously improved IDP. 

As a startup in a fast-paced high growth environment, we are looking for an engineer that isn't bound by dogmatic principles assigned to traditional engineering roles. You’ll be exposed to, develop skills in, and be responsible for work that may at times fall into the traditional world of site reliability, data, security, and software engineering.

Before we get started, let’s be specific here with minimum skill sets. This is a senior-level engineer position. We use Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform almost exclusively in a 100% cloud-based environment. You are an engineer who is skilled, tested, and comfortable in your knowledge of these technologies.

• Be a high impact critical member of our engineering squads by building and maintaining the Internal Development Platform that empowers Syndio’s software development process.
• Be exposed to a wide range of cloud technologies and platforms (we use GCP), infrastructure management and tooling, API design and development, DevOps technologies, and various programming languages.
• Be at the forefront of change working in a fast-paced environment where the company and technology are evolving rapidly.
• Technologies you will work with: GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Datadog, Python, Go, and more!

  • 3+ years of experience in a cloud environment operating as a Platform Engineer or similar role
  • Demonstrated accomplishments and experience with continuous integration and delivery frameworks
  • Experience with GCP, AWS or Azure 
  • Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm experience is required

  • You are relentlessly curious, willing to explore all aspects of the product to identify gaps in stability, scalability, and performance
