Role Summary/Purpose:

As an Software Engineer II, you’ll be building Microservices, MFE’s, API’s and managing an amazing team of engineers working on our applications leveraging cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating schemas in IT/QA/UAT databases for Workstation/ Servicing Apps.

• Making schemas up to production and cleaning up old schemas.

• Working on Table Synchronization, New User ID Creation, Mapping of UserID's and Other user id related issues.

• Validating scripts before sending to production .Identifying and resolving database errors and issues.

• Develop pl/sql stored procedures, functions,packages and triggers .

• Use cursors,bulk collect,FORALL for performance optimization.

• Help developers if they face difficulty in understanding existing procedures or functions.

• Managing storage structures (tablespaces, datafiles). 

• Analyze  sql queries using EXPLAIN PLAN and SQL Tuning advisor .

• Implement role-based access control, privileges, and authentication for database users.

• Create shell scripts for schema creation, roles creation, validating scripts.

• Migrating Workstation Oracle DB to Postgresql with initial POC, Using SCT tool migrated data from oracle to Postgresql. Convert oracle-specific data types to equivalent types in the target cloud DB.

• Rebuild indexes and constraints after data is loaded.

• Run sql scripts to verify row counts,primary keys and relationships.

• Using AWS DMS tool migrate data from Oracle to AWS RDS.

• Analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root cause and implement fixes

• Work with third party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into our products

• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

• Creating and configuration of domains in Weblogic.

• Handling all the aspects of administration tasks such as day-to-day monitoring and maintenance ,configuring , deploying applications and troubleshooting issues during deployment.

• Provide bitbucket feature,dev ,qa,merge branches .

• Resolving permission issues faced by developers while accessing bit bucket branches.

• Setting up Infrastructure for IT/ST/UAT environments.

• Troubleshooting the issues during deployment of applications by monitoring logs.

• Perform Weblogic server restarts and deployment of different applications.

• Creating JDBC data sources and other resources.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum 2+ years of experience required and in Lieu of degree, minimum of 4+ years of experience required.

• 2+ years of Strong Technical Expertise in Java, Unix , Weblogic, Oracle, PL/SQL, PostGresql , AWS-RDS

• 2+ years of experience with On-prem or hybrid to public cloud migration.

• 2+ years of experience with Agile application development and familiarity with tools like JIRA

• 2+ years of experience with continuous integration environments and using tools like Jenkins

• 2+ years of experience with Cloud Platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry & AWS.

• Executing execution plan for queries, procedures and  building reports.

• Strong Knowledge on Workstation environment setup and dependency on handling workflows.

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

• Familiarity in designing application using SOLID principles, Java and microservice design patterns with business acumen

• Working knowledge in RDBMS

• Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact and resolution options

• Familiarity in workstation DB schema creation, maintenance , dependent tables and the migration to public cloud.

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum 2+ years of experience mentioned in “ Required Skill/Knowledge” and in Lieu of degree, minimum of 4+ years of experience required.

Work Timings: 2 PM – 11 PM IST( Suggested)

(This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
