Role Summary/Purpose:
The AVP, Consumer Bank Project Manager role will involve the planning, design, and implementation of the Synchrony Consumer Bank Projects. The project manager will be responsible for managing multiple projects through a governance model. The ideal candidate will deliver world class applications by engaging with key business, technical, and vendor stakeholders to understand business needs and identify solutions. This individual will work in a matrix environment collaborating with the business, QA, Synchrony development teams and multiple vendors to ensure all business needs are met and implemented for the project while maintaining the timelines.

Essential Responsibilities:
Develop project plans to realize the requirements, while leading, managing, tracking, and communicating the execution of the plans and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop business requirements and define potential areas of customer impact
Work with cross-functional teams to create a holistic road-map and planning for product delivery
Collaborate with vendors and Synchrony IT to define technical requirements and create project documentation as needed.
Collaborate with Synchrony Consumer Banking Quality Assurance team to conduct and coordinate UAT and QA testing on projects and enhancements as they are passed from development.
Provide regular communication and updates to team and stakeholders and lead project issue triage and status update meetings regarding projects and enhancements. Manage and coordinate project milestone sign offs, closeout meeting and approval at delivery of project.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and understand project priorities in context with the demands of the individual businesses.
Consolidate and provide feedback, update change logs
Escalate issues/risks associated with project pipeline, capacity and/or scope creep
Develop implementation plans, coordinate system outages and plan conversion weekend.
In depth knowledge in requirements gathering, design, UI specs with visuals and wireframes, gap analysis, business processes and rules, use cases, data dependencies, and back end processing needs.
Ensure technical documentation accurately reflects software components developed and delivered.
Strong analytical and effective leadership skills to understand business and customer needs and provide innovative solutions.
Document and lead design reviews, provide input to the design recommendations.
Lead the deployment of new modules upgrades and fixes to the production environment, as needed.
Assist in production support. Troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies
Adhere to standards and procedures; check for compliance. Prepare and present formal training to IT staff, as needed.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 2 years of IT experience or, in lieu of degree, high diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of IT experience
Minimum 2 years of project management experience working as a liaison between developers and the business on complex application based projects using SDLC and/or Agile methodology
Minimum 2 years of experience developing customer focused software applications in programming languages, operating systems and databases
Experience with Microsoft Project and/or other Project Management tools
Desired Characteristics:
Technical experience working in .Net, Java, SQL
Experience with Agile software methodologies
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Experience in the banking or financial services industry
Fiserv experience
Creativity, enthusiasm and energy with a strong customer "can do" attitude and result oriented
Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as the proven experience managing expectations of the business, team members, management and external groups
Proven experience applying technology to solve business problems
Strong attention to detail
Keen on self-learning and continuous improvements
Desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with different IT and business teams
Grade/Level: 11
The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
