QC Electrical Engineer – Data Center Construction
Location: United States
SWJ Technology specializes in providing engineering, planning, and project management services across various industries. We are currently seeking QC Electrical Engineer - Data Center Construction - for a client in the commercial and industrial construction industry. This is a Contractor or direct hire. The QC Electrical Engineer - Data Center Construction- ensures quality, compliance, and reliability of electrical installations on data center construction projects. The role focuses on inspection, verification, and documentation of mission-critical electrical systems in accordance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and manage electrical quality control activities for data center construction projects
- Inspect installation of mission-critical electrical systems, including:
- Medium- and low-voltage power distribution
- UPS systems, battery systems, and energy storage
- Generators, fuel systems, and transfer switches (ATS/STS)
- PDUs, RPPs, busways, and branch circuit installations
- Grounding, bonding, and lightning protection systems
- Verify compliance with construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITPs
- Review and approve electrical material submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documentation
- Witness factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and commissioning activities
- Identify non-conformances (NCRs), track corrective actions, and verify closeout
- Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and design teams to resolve quality issues
- Support integrated systems testing (IST) readiness and turnover documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, local AHJ requirements)
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and turnover packages
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in electrical construction QC, with a strong focus on data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Proven experience inspecting critical power infrastructure and redundancy systems (N, N+1, 2N)
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and QA/QC procedures
- Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, construction drawings, and technical specifications
- Experience working with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and commissioning agents
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Assertive but collaborative communication style
- Ability to work in fast-paced, schedule-driven construction environments
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent
- Experience with commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST)
- Familiarity with BIM / Revit and electrical documentation platforms
- Experience with hyperscale or colocation data center projects
- Certification in Quality Management or Inspection (e.g., ISO 9001, CQE)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

- Location: Confidential, Southern America
- Schedule: Flexible working hours required/ Willingness to travel to project sites as required
- Overtime: As required
- Assignment Start: ASAP
