We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Tester Intern to join our Market Infrastructure Standards & Solutions team in Kuala Lumpur. This 6-month internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software testing, quality assurance processes, Agile delivery, and test automation while contributing to the quality and reliability of applications used by customers worldwide.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain test cases based on business requirements, dashboards, user stories, and test plans.

  • Execute test cases of low to medium complexity according to test plans, execute manual test cases, analyze and log test results, and record test outcomes.

  • Review and analyze requirements, identify missing test cases, and participate in test preparation for a project or product.

  • Identify, document, and track software defects in Jira, and propose and run procedures that help to find errors existing in the product.

  • Update QA documentation and traceability matrix.

  • Keep more senior team members aware of the testing evolution and contribute to a correct evaluation and planning of resources in the project framework.

  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-up meetings, and other Agile team activities.

  • Assist in the implementation of test process improvements.

  • Assist in the implementation of test automation tools.

Education

Required

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Any experience within a testing and/or development environment is an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.

  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a collaborative environment.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with university projects involving software development.

  • Interest in financial technology and payment systems

  • Basic understanding of SQL programming language

Experience

  • No prior professional experience required.

  • Relevant academic projects, coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions will be considered an advantage.
