What we’re looking for

We are seeking a strategic Director of Marketing Program Management to lead our marketing program management initiatives while also serving as the site lead for our newly established office in Costa Rica. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing project and program management, with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and deliver successful marketing initiatives. Additionally, this person will also be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for establishing and driving the overall strategy, growth, and success of our Costa Rica operations. 

What you’ll be working on

Site Lead (20% of time) 

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Costa Rica office, aligning it with the company's global objectives. Provide high-level guidance on business development, market positioning, hiring and expansion opportunities. 
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the setup and efficient operations of the new office, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with company standards. Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and overall effectiveness. 
  • Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the budget for the Costa Rica office, ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource optimization while also ensuring compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards. 

Program Management, Marketing (80% of time) 

  • Strategic Planning: Drive integrated marketing planning, establish the team's business rhythm, and ensure programs are aligned with strategic objectives. Identify key initiatives, priorities, and milestones to drive marketing success. 
  • Program Governance: Develop and implement standardized program management methodologies, processes, and templates to ensure effective coordination, communication, and execution of marketing programs. Define roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities within the marketing program management function. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing teams, product teams, sales teams, and other key stakeholders to define program requirements, objectives, and deliverables. Foster strong relationships and facilitate alignment across teams to drive cohesive marketing initiatives. 
  • Project and Program Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of marketing programs, campaigns, and initiatives. Bring together siloed efforts into integrated workstreams with clear scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements defined. Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure quality execution of marketing programs. 
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Establish metrics, KPIs, and performance targets to measure the effectiveness of integrated marketing programs. Monitor program performance, analyze data, and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.  
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with senior leadership, key stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to provide regular updates on program status, progress, and outcomes. Present program insights, findings, and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making. 
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing program management team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the marketing organization. 

We’d love to hear from people with

  • Has 10+ years’ experience in project/program management, specifically within a marketing domain 
  • Has a proven track record of transforming PMO capabilities and program performance 
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business goals into actionable marketing programs and initiatives. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. 
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., JIRA). 
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and best practices across various channels and platforms. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, and meet tight deadlines. 
  • Proven track record of budget management, financial analysis, and resource allocation. 
  • Proven executive leadership experience in a multinational tech company or a similar industry. 
  • Deep understanding of the Costa Rican business landscape, labor laws, and regulatory environment. 
  • Ability to communicate written and orally in English at the B2+ level 

This opportunity is hybrid and requires you to work from the SurveyMonkey office in Heredia 3 days per week.
