Mid/Senior Python Developer

If you want to:

• Design and implement systems to detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and malicious activities across Surfshark services;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks, understand requirements, and develop effective solutions;
• Build, deploy, and maintain rule-based systems to mitigate service abuse and fraud;
• Develop and maintain APIs and backend services to integrate with various data sources and detect fraud or abuse based on defined rules;
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of backend systems supporting fraud and abuse detection efforts.

And you can check off:

• Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with backend development frameworks (e.g., Flask, FastAPI, Django);
• Experience with building and integrating backend systems with diverse data sources (e.g., REST APIs, databases, and external services) to enable fraud or abuse detection;
• Familiarity with database systems (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL) and data processing frameworks (e.g., pandas, PySpark, or Mage);
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design effective solutions for complex systems;
• Good communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams effectively;
• A proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize, execute tasks independently, and deliver results;
• Capability to work independently while ensuring alignment with the team’s goals.

Bonus points if you:

• Have knowledge of API security, bot prevention techniques, and/or DDoS mitigation strategies.
