Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Data Analyst to join the Financial Analytics team. This role serves as a critical bridge between Finance and Data Engineering, taking the lead on next-generation external investor reporting and owning internal metrics that drive business decisions.

Office Location

Lehi, UT or San Francisco, CA; 3-5 days/week (subject to change)

Core Responsibilities

  • External Reporting: Own development life-cycle of detailed external investor reporting (SQL).

  • ERP Migration & Refactoring

    • Refactor existing reports to support major ERP upgrade and seamless transition (SQL).

    • Lead post-migration refactoring of curated data layers for efficiency (SQL, dbt).

  • Demand Management (Slack/Google, Jira)

    • Manage intake of critical issues (broken reports, audit requests, access issues).

    • Incorporating new funds, products, projects into department roadmap.

  • Strategic Metrics: Take ownership of creating/revamping internal financial metrics (SQL, Tableau).

Technical Requirements (Hard Skills)

  • Expert SQL: You are beyond "complex selects." You can build tables, optimize tools, and architect data structures. (Snowflake is strongly preferred).

  • Excel/G-Sheets: Advanced proficiency in Excel for testing and quick turn around analysis; familiarity with Google Sheets is a plus.

  • dbt (Data Build Tool): Proficiency in developing modular, version-controlled models for scalable data transformations.

  • Tableau: Intermediate skills in Tableau to build dashboards that tell a story.

  • Agile Tools: Experience with Jira and GitHub for change management and version control.

Professional Competencies (Soft Skills)

  • Adaptive Problem-Solver: Rapidly gain proficiency in new datasets/code; self-identify discrepancies and confidently present solutions when data deviates from expectations.

  • Translator (‘Code-Switcher’): Able to work across business, data engineering, and software teams with ease—translating complex data logic or workflows into plain language / documentation for stakeholders.

  • Strategic Intake Manager: You can manage demanding deadlines and complex client requests, recognizing when to escalate technical blocks to Data Engineering or priority conflicts to management.

  • Proactive Orchestrator: Shares transparent, easy-to-digest progress updates in public forums and documentation, balancing complex project needs with a steady focus on delivery.

  • Dynamic Collaborator: Comfortable autonomously navigate legacy code and structure independent work plans while driving high-standard peer reviews.

Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s in a quantitative field (CS, Finance, Engineering, etc.).

  • Career: 3 - 5 years in data analysis, focusing on FinOps (AR, Billing, Collections, Asset Management).

Plus: Working knowledge of Hightouch, Python, Oracle Cloud, Anaplan, SOX Controls
