Position Overview:

Sunrun, a leader in residential solar energy solutions, is seeking a Senior OCI Administrator / DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Oracle Cloud SaaS and PaaS environments. This role is critical to the development, automation, and optimization of Sunrun's Oracle Cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration, high performance, scalability, and security for our enterprise applications. The successful candidate will lead DevOps initiatives, implement CI/CD pipelines, automate workflows, and ensure the resilience of cloud-based applications. This is a hands-on technical role requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive infrastructure excellence and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management:

    • Architect, configure, and manage Oracle Cloud environments (SaaS and PaaS) to support enterprise applications, focusing on high availability, scalability, and performance.

    • Oversee infrastructure automation processes, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.

  • Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD):

    • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for Oracle Cloud applications, utilizing tools such as Jenkins and Oracle Visual Builder Studio to streamline development and deployment processes.

    • Automate key workflows, minimizing manual interventions and ensuring smooth deployment cycles.

  • Performance Optimization & Monitoring:

    • Monitor Oracle Cloud environments to detect and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal application responsiveness.

    • Utilize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure APIs and monitoring tools to manage, monitor, and troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance issues.

  • Collaboration & Issue Resolution:

    • Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in the CI/CD pipeline.

    • Serve as the technical point of contact for infrastructure-related incidents, managing escalations and ensuring timely issue resolution.

  • Security & Compliance:

    • Implement and enforce robust security policies to protect Oracle Cloud environments from potential vulnerabilities and external threats.

    • Ensure compliance with security frameworks, including SSO, user authentication, and identity management protocols.

  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for Oracle Cloud architecture, configurations, CI/CD processes, and best practices.

    • Share expertise and provide technical leadership to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.

  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:

    • Plan and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to safeguard critical applications and data in Oracle Cloud environments.

  • Emerging Technologies & Best Practices:

    • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in Oracle Cloud features and DevOps methodologies, continuously improving infrastructure and deployment strategies.

  • Database Management:

    • Configure and manage Oracle Autonomous Databases, including performance tuning, data backup strategies, and resolving performance issues.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Infrastructure Management, with a focus on Oracle Cloud SaaS and PaaS environments.

    • Proven experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including SaaS applications such as ERP, SCM, EPM, and WMS.

    • Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible.

    • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Oracle Visual Builder Studio) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

    • Hands-on experience managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure APIs for monitoring and managing cloud environments.

    • Proficiency with Oracle Autonomous Database management, including performance optimization and backup strategies.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of Oracle Cloud security frameworks, including SSO, user authentication, and identity management.

    • Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting of Oracle Cloud applications.

    • Familiarity with monitoring tools and techniques to ensure high availability and application performance.

  • Certifications (Preferred):

    • Relevant Oracle Cloud or DevOps certifications.

    • Knowledge of Oracle PaaS offerings like Integration Cloud, Analytics Cloud, and Process Cloud.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on proactive identification and resolution of issues.

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

    • Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members.

It assumes that the successful candidate will be located in markets within the United States that warrant the compensation listed. Candidates in locations outside this local area may have a different  starting salary range for this opportunity which may be higher or lower.  Please speak with your recruiter to learn more.

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

115,228.97 to 138,274.77

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.  Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
