Job Description:

• We seek an exceptional Enterprise and Solution Architect to serve as an architecture lead for our Canadian Retail Life Insurance and Wealth portfolio. This role will be instrumental in driving innovation and spearheading technical solutions across our Retail Insurance and Wealth portfolio in Canada.

Preferred skills

• Experience with Insurance and/or Wealth Management platforms for customer acquisition, distribution, onboarding, and operations.
• Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS (Lambda, EC2, RDS, Glue etc.)
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts, including LLMs and their integration into applications
• Experience with API and Data Integration Patterns

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in IT architecture, at both the enterprise architecture level and technical solution architecture level with a focus on insurance and/or wealth management industries
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF or similar)
• Expertise in microservices architecture, and API design
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the financial services industry
• Experience with data management, analytics, and business intelligence tools
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Professional certifications (e.g. TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are an asset

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture of complex insurance platforms in the Sun Life Retail Life Insurance and/or Wealth Management space.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Ensure alignment between IT architecture and business goals
• Provide technical leadership to development teams
• Create North Star Architecture for Retail Life Insurance and Wealth portfolios.
• Support Various business initiatives by providing the solution blueprints and supporting governance and control processes required for approval of that solution.
• Research and pilot the latest technologies and practices, and evaluate benefits for our organization
• Champion a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
