About Team :

The CSOR (Cloud Security Operations & Response) team at Sumo Logic is dedicated to monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats across the company’s cloud infrastructure. Their primary focus is on enhancing Sumo Logic's security posture by developing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security protocols, incident response procedures, and monitoring systems. This team plays a key role in ensuring the protection of customer data, addressing vulnerabilities, and managing any incidents swiftly and effectively. They work closely with other teams to build automated, scalable solutions that continuously improve Sumo Logic's security operations in a dynamic cloud environment.

What you’ll be working on:

• Designing and implementing extremely high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable backend systems that process and manage petabyte scale data.
• Building the system that runs elastic big data analytics platform that runs in a shared-everything multi-tenant architecture in AWS cloud. 
• Work collaboratively as a member of a team to deliver identified projects.
• Analyze and improve the efficiency and reliability of our backend systems.
• Write robust code; demonstrate its robustness through automated tests.
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques, and coding standards.

Your experience and skills include:

• B.S. or higher in Computer Sciences or related discipline (M.S. a plus)
• 9-15 years of industry experience with a proven track record of ownership and delivery
• Experience developing scalable distributed data processing solutions
• Experience in multi-threaded programming
• Experience in running large scalable distributed services following a microservice architecture
• Hands-on object-oriented programming experience (e.g., Java, Scala)
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Desirable skills:

• Experience in big data and/or 24x7 commercial service is highly desirable.
• You should be happy working with Unix (Linux, OS X).
• Agile software development experience (test-driven development, iterative and incremental development) is a plus.
