Software Engineer

Sumo Logic, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer in Redwood City, California.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the engineering team to design and develop the user interface and middle tier for our enterprise machine data analytics management service.
• Work with the team to define and provide a powerful yet simple and intuitive user interface that will be one of the key differentiators of the service in the marketplace.
• Work with our talented visual designers to bring new application features to life.
• Contribute to and guide others in utilizing our design system, debugging, and addressing critical escalations, and monitoring and resolving alerts from our automated testing suites. 
• Build a rich user interface primarily for Sumo Logic's mission-critical high-availability analytics platform using React and TypeScript.
• Participate in user experience design, architecture initiatives, and regular code reviews with a significant focus on ease of use, visual appeal, re-usability, and performance.
• Collaborate with feature and component teams during design and development phases to ensure adherence to UI architectural standards and best practices.
• Contribute to writing Integration Tests and Unit Tests for Micro-frontend Architecture.
• Telecommuting is permitted.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT-related field and three (3) years of experience asa Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related role. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT-related field and one (1) year of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related role.

• Work experience with:
• Creating and delivering enterprise grade applications using React; 
• JavaScript/ES6/Typescript and frontend frameworks such as React and Angular while creating frontend applications;
• Working with Agile development team while following scrum methodologies;
• Contributing to writing Integration Tests; and,
• Unit Tests for web applications using Webpack, Jest, Karma, Cypress.

The salary range for this position is $126,500 to $156,000 per year.
