Principal Engineer Silicon Photonics Device Design & Integration

 

Within the Advanced R&D Module team in Technology and Design Platform department of STMicroelectronics in Crolles, you will be responsible for extending the device library support and evolution towards next generation silicon photonics technology. Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Responsible for design and implementation of next generation of active device components (modulator, detector and sources)
    • Perform simulation and layout.
    • Propose process flow allowing to reach device performance.
    • Bringing device to TRL5 maturity level.
  • Interface with optical test team 
  • Interface with Process Development engineers 
  • Interface with internal Business Unit and Customer’s circuit design teams
  • Contribute to the roadmap definition by proposing and develop new solutions to sustain short term and longer-term needs.
  • Contribute to training of young engineers in the field for Si-Photonics
  • Collaborate with institutional partners and academics to reinforce our ecosystem.
  • Manage 1~2 Ph.D. students.

 

Requirements

  • Ph.D. + 10 years’ experience in Silicon Photonics industry or research
  • Demonstrated experience in simulation and device design of high-speed optical devices.
  • Demonstrated track of records in Scientific publications related to Silicon Photonics
  • Experience in process integration.
  • Fluent in English
