- Build and Lead a High-Performing Engineering Organization: Develop and execute a roadmap to scale the engineering team and establish a culture that aligns with Stigg’s values of innovation, agility, and quality. You’ll be responsible for assembling a team capable of building robust, scalable products and guiding them to achieve their best work.
- Deliver Exceptional, Scalable Products: Ensure that Stigg’s products deliver high availability, performance, and security by fostering a quality-driven engineering culture. You’ll set standards and practices to elevate the codebase quality, streamline development, and drive consistent, predictable product delivery.
- Lead Talent Acquisition and Personal Growth: Drive hiring initiatives to attract top talent, spearhead training programs, and create individual growth opportunities that foster job satisfaction and career advancement within the engineering team.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with the product and GTM teams to translate business goals into a technical roadmap. You’ll identify and implement solutions using best-in-class technologies, architectures, and practices.
- Establish a Culture of Operational Excellence: Design and optimize processes around reliability, observability, and automation. Lead initiatives to improve deployment cycles, incident response, and platform reliability, ensuring that Stigg’s infrastructure meets the demands of growth.
- Optimize Internal Processes and Communication: Manage and refine workflows to create a clear, healthy flow of information within the engineering team and across other organizational stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Maximize Team Velocity: Implement strategies and practices to optimize both individual and team productivity, enhancing output to achieve efficient and impactful delivery.

- Scalability of Team: Building an engineering organization that scales effectively with business needs. This includes adding key technical roles, developing team members’ skillsets, and implementing scalable processes and structures to maintain velocity as the team grows.
- Platform Reliability and Performance: Achieving and maintaining high SLAs on uptime, response time, and platform performance. Success indicators include measurable improvements in monitoring, reliability, and reduced incident rates.
- Business Impact: Driving an engineering roadmap tightly aligned with business goals, contributing to features and enhancements that support revenue growth, customer acquisition, and retention.
- Engineering Metrics and Data-Driven Insights: Establishing a culture of data-driven decision-making with clear, measurable insights into engineering productivity, system health, and code quality, enabling continuous improvement and accountability across the team.
What can help you achieve your goals 💪
- Leadership and Management Experience: 5+ years of experience in senior engineering roles (Engineering Group Manager, Director of R&D, or VP of R&D) within high-growth startups. You’ve been there, scaling teams from 10 to 50+ in the whirlwind of startup life, and you know how to keep everyone aligned and moving forward.
- Technical Expertise: 5+ years in software engineering, with expertise managing large-scale, distributed systems. You’re fluent in cloud platforms (AWS is a big plus), architectural patterns, and best practices that make robust, scalable products.
- Process Wizardry: You’ve built efficient, reliable processes for deployment, observability, and automation.
- Coming from B2B SaaS: A deep understanding of enterprise-scale SaaS products. You’ve built and delivered complex API-first products, prioritizing developer experience by keeping knowledge and documentation in excellent shape.
- Strategic Mindset: You turn big business goals into clear, actionable roadmaps that drive product and market impact. You’re not just about the “what” and “how”, you bring the “why” to the team.
- Proactive Collaboration: You know how to work seamlessly across Product, GTM, and other teams to hit ambitious goals. Communication is your superpower, keeping everyone in sync and moving fast.
