Job Description

The job at a glance  

You will be working within the Interstellar Team, a team consisting of: 5 Developers (including yourself), an Engineering Manager and a Project Manager. Interstellar collaborate with other teams often and work closely with stakeholders who liaise with external clients (vendors), so communication is a must.

Interstellar’s main focus is on building integrations to make job seekers’ spend less time applying to jobs by minimizing redirections, reducing repetitive data input and much more. This is done by creating API Integrations and Web Browser automations that send Job Seeker Application data to various endpoints, such as: Job Boards, Applicant Tracking Systems, and API providers that proxy Applicant Tracking Systems. Another focus for the team is extending the benefits of the integration, including a system that enables us to track the job seeker application status in the recruitment process and provide value for jobseekers, ATS’s and employers.

Your responsibilities  

• Perform analysis to determine the data compatibility between Stepstone, our customers, and the vendors we integrate with.
• Build new integrations between Stepstone and Applicant Tracking Systems and their public or bespoke API.
• Build new integrations between Stepstone and Unified API Providers (think Merge, IFTTT, etc).
• Communicate effectively within the team and organisation.
• Maintain existing integrations, including managing monitoring, security, code dependency, and platform modernization concerns.

Qualifications

Your skills and qualifications

Technologies you need to know:

• Java 11+
• Basic knowledge of design and architectural patterns 
• Spring and Spring Boot
• Junit Testing, Pact (Contract Testing)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Bamboo, Jenkins, Maven) and VCS (Git)
• Knowledge of how to test and monitor applications
• Knowledge of working with microservices
• Docker
• RDBMSes, specifically Postgres and/or MySQL experience preferred

Technologies that are nice to have

• Kafka
• Common AWS services, especially RDS, ECS
• Experience with NoSQL and/or Document databases
