About the Opportunity

SteerBridge is seeking three Mid-Level Database Administrators to support USMC aviation maintenance data systems within DoD and GovCloud environments.

Reporting to the Senior Database Administrator, you will provide frontline production support for Oracle, Sybase ASE, and AWS data pipeline systems. You will monitor system health, investigate alerts and tickets, resolve routine incidents, and escalate complex issues. This role offers hands-on experience across database administration, cloud data operations, and application troubleshooting while contributing to a 24/7 support team.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in a rotating 24/7 production support schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

• Monitor and support production Oracle and Sybase ASE databases, AWS data pipelines, and related cloud services to maintain availability and performance.

• Triage tickets and alerts, investigate production issues, and restore service within established response and resolution targets, escalating complex or high-severity incidents to the Senior DBA as appropriate.

• Perform routine database administration, including health monitoring, patching, backups, and user and access provisioning.

• Execute health checks, troubleshooting, and routine remediation for AWS Glue jobs, Amazon RDS instances, Amazon Redshift clusters, and workloads running on Amazon ECS and AWS Fargate.

• Troubleshoot production application issues, authentication and login problems, and basic NGINX web server issues.

• Document incidents, findings, and resolution steps to support effective shift handoffs and maintain and improve runbooks and standard operating procedures based on recurring issues.

Required Qualifications

• Eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship is required for this position under applicable federal contract requirements. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher as required for the role.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• 2–4 years of database administration or database operations support experience, with exposure to Oracle and/or Sybase ASE.

• Willingness and ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 support schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Hands-on exposure to at least one of the following AWS services: AWS Glue, Amazon RDS, Amazon Redshift, Amazon ECS, or AWS Fargate.

• Working SQL scripting skills and familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.

• Experience troubleshooting production applications, including user-reported and system-generated issues, authentication and login issues involving Keycloak and AWS access services, and basic NGINX troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with both Oracle and Sybase ASE database environments.

• Experience in a network operations center (NOC), help desk, or 24/7 production support environment.

• Familiarity with , Jira Service Management, or similar ticketing platforms and ITIL-based incident management practices.

• Familiarity with DoD, federal, or AWS GovCloud environments.

• Experience administering Keycloak for identity and access management.

Work Environment and Schedule

These positions support a Vienna, VA-based program, with onsite or hybrid attendance determined by program requirements. Participation in a rotating 24/7 support schedule is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned. Specific shift hours and rotation details will be discussed during the interview process.
