Senior Data Business Intelligence Report Developer - Tech Lead

Location: Hyderabad, India

Job Description

Who we are looking for:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Reporting development.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI report and dashboard development.
  • Experience designing and developing semantic models, datasets, and enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, DAX, Power Query (M), and reporting best practices.
  • Hands-on experience consuming and analyzing data from Databricks hosted on AWS.
  • Ability to work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable reporting solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting production reporting environments and resolving reporting issues.

As a Developer, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, scorecards, and executive reporting solutions.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements and convert them into meaningful reporting and visualization solutions.
  • Develop and optimize data models, datasets, and semantic layers to support enterprise analytics.
  • Create advanced DAX calculations, KPIs, measures, and business metrics.
  • Integrate data from Databricks, AWS data platforms, databases, and other enterprise applications.
  • Monitor and improve report performance, refresh schedules, and query execution.
  • Implement governance, security, and Row-Level Security (RLS) standards.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and availability.
  • Support production deployments, issue resolution, and ongoing enhancements of reporting solutions.
  • Prepare technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge transfer materials.

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

  • Advanced Power BI development expertise including Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Strong SQL development and query tuning capabilities.
  • Expertise in data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience working with Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark SQL, and large-scale analytics platforms.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, and modern analytics architectures.
  • Experience implementing report governance, security, and data access controls.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across global teams.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and enterprise reporting.
  • Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) Certification preferred.
  • Experience working with Databricks on AWS-based data platforms.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and modern cloud-based analytics solutions.
  • Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Compliance, Risk Management, or Operations Analytics environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Python, Git and CI/CD implementation for Power BI is an added advantage.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards and self-service reporting capabilities.
