Role Description

We are looking for a QA Automation Lead within Global Technology Services to drive quality assurance, test automation, and AI-enabled testing initiatives for State Street applications. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality software through effective test strategies, automation solutions, and continuous process improvement while collaborating with business, development, and QA teams across global locations. The role is based in the China Hub.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

As a QA Automation Lead, you will:

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of automation testing frameworks.
• Develop, review, and maintain automation test solutions using Python, Java, or similar technologies.
• Drive AI adoption in testing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Perform complex data validation, analysis, and test data management using advanced SQL skills.
• Define and execute performance testing strategies and support performance issue analysis and resolution.
• Integrate automation testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Mentor QA engineers, promote testing best practices, and provide technical leadership.
• Collaborate effectively with global teams and communicate testing status, risks, and quality metrics in English.

Educational Requirements and Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from a full-time program
• 5+ years of automation testing experience, including at least 2 years as an Automation Testing Technical Lead, Test Framework Owner, or Quality Engineering Lead
• Proven ability to independently develop, customize, or lead the implementation of automation testing frameworks, including framework architecture, coding standards, maintenance strategy, and scalability design
• Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language such as Python or Java, with strong code quality awareness and the ability to conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and govern automation script quality
• Able to lead the application of AI technologies to customize testing tools based on project and business requirements, improve testing efficiency, and drive AI adoption in test analysis, test case generation, defect investigation, or test data preparation
• Expert-level SQL proficiency, with capabilities in complex data validation, data analysis, test data construction, data quality checks, and advanced query design
• Hands-on experience in performance and load testing, with the ability to define performance testing strategies, design performance test scenarios, analyze bottlenecks, and drive issue resolution; proficient in JMeter, SoapUI, or equivalent tools
• Familiar with mainstream CI/CD tools and DevOps processes, such as Jenkins, GitLab, and Azure DevOps, with the ability to effectively integrate automation testing into continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
• Strong collaboration and technical leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior and mid-level automation testing engineers, promote best practices, and coordinate with development, QA, product, and business teams to resolve quality issues
• Comfortable working in an English-speaking environment and international collaboration, with strong written and verbal English communication skills for requirement clarification, technical discussions, and quality reporting
• AI or Machine Learning project testing experience is preferred, including experience in AI application testing, model validation, data quality testing, prompt testing, or AI toolchain testing
