Your Opportunity

Our BC Water Team (based In Burnaby) has an opportunity for an Intermediate Water Resources Designer. We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, detail-oriented team player who is excited about water resources infrastructure, river restoration, flood mitigation, hydrology, hydraulics and project design/coordination. The qualified candidate will perform various tasks which may include engineering design (concept, preliminary and detailed designs), calculations, modelling, fieldwork, data analysis, reporting, and other engineering assignments, all in a friendly, fast-paced work environment. Your Key Responsibilities

  • This role will be supporting multi-disciplinary water resources and civil projects, related to new construction and infrastructure renewal
  • Detailed studies and design tasks associated with water related projects including site civil, conveyance and water resources projects
  • Writing reports, design briefs and proposals
  • Taking responsibility for the quality of your written, technical and graphic work, and for completing work on-time and on-budget
  • Coordinating design drawings and specification development
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams towards a common goal of delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Assist Project Managers with various duties including project set-up, invoicing, financial and schedule management, change management and other tasks
  • Attending and conducting internal, client and contactor meetings and documenting the meetings with minutes
  • Contract Administration as required for a wide variety of construction projects
  • Hydraulic modeling (or overseeing hydraulic modelers) will be required on some projects (software including PCSWMM, Mike, WaterCAD, etc.).
  • Provide technical mentorship to Engineers-in-Training
  • Share your engineering knowledge with other members or our team and be eager to learn from your colleagues

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
