Your Opportunity

The MCF (Mission Critical Facilities) Engineer performs technical duties under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer. Understands and identifies project requirements and performs independent technical work within one’s own discipline. Provides guidance to Designers on completion of duties. The data center industry is continually evolving, and this is an ideal opportunity for candidates who enjoy working on technically challenging projects that require cutting edge designs. Aside from the preferred locations listed, this position is open to any location with a Stantec office presence, for the right candidate.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develops basic system designs within own discipline under supervision of a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer; this includes the ability to offer solutions to general technical problems.
  • Delegates tasks to project designers as appropriate.
  • Works in conjunction with the project team to prepare project deliverables per the client’s intent and scope of work outlined in the proposal.
  • Coordinates well with all disciplines to fully integrate work and client requests into design.
  • Follows quality management process; reviews project deliverables prior to submission to QA/AC reviewer.
  • Assists with reviews of shop drawings and submittals, RFI responses, site observation reports and punch lists, attends project coordination meetings, and performs other CA tasks.
  • Actively participates in the engineering/Professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth (e.g. attend meetings / seminars / conferences).
  • Assists the Project Engineer on project related tasks.
  • Meets or exceeds utilization goals and adheres to project budget.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Possess knowledge of engineering practices within own discipline.
  • Knowledge of commonly used and accepted design and construction concepts, practices, procedures, codes, and standards.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and specifications, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Proficient in applicable software (i.e. AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Trace 700). Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g. Pipe-Flo) and CFD software (e.g. Fluent, 6Sigma) preferred.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills to confidently interact and communicate scope and coordinate tasks with vendors and inter-discipline co-workers.
  • Displays effective organization and time management skills with projects, reports and other duties; effectively manages multiple priorities and is punctual and dependable.

About the Organization

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
