Our multidisciplinary team in Northern Canada is looking for an energetic Mechanical EIT to round out our growing practice across Northern Canada. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple commercial / institutional / health care / light industrial buildings projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Prepare contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
- Assist in the design of building related mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems using applicable codes, standards, and reference materials.
- Review equipment selections, perform preliminary engineering calculations, and develop preliminary designs.
- Produce aspects of mechanical design and drawings in REVIT, as well as in AutoCAD.
- Follow production guidelines and project standards in the department drafting standards manual.
- Work closely with the Mechanical Engineer and engineering group in recommending the best use of project tools to achieve project objectives, troubleshoot and resolve issues with the project tools.
- Ensure the assurance of quality, consistency, and integrity of the electronic handover of deliverables.
- Assist with periodic field reviews of construction and construction administration tasks (conduct shop drawing reviews, respond to RFIs, prepare documentation for site instructions or change requests).
- Perform field surveys for drawing development, site reviews and as-built drawings.
- Performs thorough quality control of construction documents.
- Work as a contributing team member within a multi-discipline team.
- Communicate with other team members and become familiar with Stantec standards to complete assignments and projects in a timely manner as required.
- Understand and execute and/or direct work within Stantec's quality control guidelines.
- Comply with Stantec's HSSE program, with a focus on safety in the field.
