This role will support federal, state, and local government clients and requires a strong understanding of prescriptive project requirements, government design standards, regulatory compliance, documentation quality, and contract deliverables.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing interior design solutions that align with agency specific standards, accessibility requirements, security considerations, sustainability objectives, and project performance criteria.

This individual is expected to perform their role within the standard of care acceptable to their peers in the industry. The Interior Designer is expected to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams to conceptualize, develop, and document varying aspects of the interior design, including space planning, interior architecture, finish and material selections, furniture specifications, FF&E procurement support, and construction administration services.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for design excellence and creativity within the practice of interior design both internally and externally.

  • Anticipate client needs to consistently deliver excellent client service.

  • Collaborate across offices and disciplines to support multiple project teams while maintaining the established project goals and design vision.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams including architecture, engineering, sustainability, security, and specialty consultants such as acoustic, lighting, and AV design.

  • Engage team members in design discussions and ensure adherence to the established design processes and quality management procedures.

  • Share technical knowledge and best practice with team members, clients, and project partners.

  • Solicit input from team members and seek guidance to address project challenges and technical issues.

  • Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Comply with professional ethical standards and codes.

  • Prepare and coordinate interior design deliverables in accordance with contract requirements, agency standards, and project schedules. This includes the development of construction documents and related interior design packages.

  • Coordinate with project managers and technical leads to ensure compliance with project scope, budget, quality requirements, and milestone submissions. Be an integral team member in supporting design reviews, client presentations, stakeholder meetings, and responses to agency comments throughout the duration of the project.

  • Review project documentation for compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility standards, government criteria, and quality control procedures.

  • Assist during the construction administration phase by responding to RFIs, submittal review, participate in site visits, and supporting project closeout.
