Advanced Development Engineering (ADE) InternEngineer the Future of Standard Iron
Standard Iron is seeking an Advanced Development Engineering (ADE) Intern to support product development initiatives and contribute to innovative engineering solutions that meet customer needs and manufacturing objectives. This internship is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field who is eager to gain hands-on experience in product development, manufacturing, and engineering problem-solving.
As an ADE Intern, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, participate in real-world projects, and gain exposure to the complete product development lifecycle, from concept through production.

As an Advanced Development Engineering Intern, your primary goal is to support engineering and product development activities while building practical skills and industry knowledge.
Design & Development
- Assist with product design and development projects from concept through production
- Support the creation and maintenance of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Participate in design improvement initiatives focused on quality, performance, cost, and manufacturability
- Assist with prototype development, testing, validation, and production launch activities
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and sales teams
- Support engineering projects by completing assigned tasks and technical deliverables
- Assist in analyzing and resolving design and manufacturing challenges
- Participate in project meetings and support customer and supplier communications when applicable
- Learn and apply engineering best practices, standards, and design methodologies
- Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas for improvement
- Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
- Assist in the development of innovative products and manufacturing processes
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and product design concepts
- Familiarity with CAD software through coursework, projects, or prior internships
- Interest in manufacturing processes, fabrication, welding, and product development
- Ability to analyze problems and develop practical solutions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn and work in a collaborative team environment
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
- Preferred Junior or Senior standing, though all qualified candidates will be considered
- Exposure to CAD software through coursework, design projects, or extracurricular activities
- Strong academic foundation in engineering principles
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and contribute
