Job Description

At Standard Bank Group, our Insurance and Asset Management division is uniquely positioned to deliver comprehensive investment strategies and insurance solutions to clients across Africa. Our graduate programme aims to attract talent with strong technical knowledge who can become thought leaders and trusted advisors. We combine theoretical learning with practical experience, supported by rotations across the Insurance & Asset Management Technology business lifecycle. You will learn application and technology architecture processes such as analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and also gain exposure to operations, maintenance, and support of live production environments.

The Specialist: Developer in the Libfin Business Unit is responsible for the design, development, and enhancement of technology solutions that support trading and financial market operations. Specialising in trade and financial markets, this role contributes to the implementation and customisation of core platforms such as Murex and Alchemy, as well as the integration of these systems within the broader enterprise landscape. Developers apply strong engineering practices to deliver high-performance, secure, and resilient solutions across the trade lifecycle, from execution through to post-trade processing. Working closely with systems analysts and business users, the role focuses on solving complex market-specific challenges while driving automation, continuous improvement, and adherence to best-practice development standards.
