Sr. Project Engineer

Stacy Witbeck is looking for 2-3 Project Engineers/Assistant Project Managers in the Southern California region to support our growing region. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Experience with leading a project or leading a team including supervising staff and craft personnel
  • Experience with monthly cost reporting including forecasting of future cost to complete
  • Experience with monthly revenue reporting including monthly progress payments and forecasting of future revenue
  • Experience with negotiating subcontracts and material purchase agreements
  • Experience with managing and tracking subcontractor work including progress and preparation of subcontractor progress estimates
  • Experience administrating a contract including but not limited to; documents control process, control of work requirements, change order management, and schedule management
  • Experience with writing and managing RFI’s and Submittals
  • Experience with management of project change order process including required notification of changes, requests for compensation, change order negotiation and time extension negotiations
  • Experience with preparation and management of P6 schedules and monthly updates
  • Experience on bid-build unit price and lump sum projects with an understanding of the measurement and payment requirements
  • Familiar with contract requirements regarding documentation and notification of any delays and/​or changes to original contract scope of work
  • Experience supervising the coordination between engineers and project superintendents regarding daily schedules including people, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.​
  • Acts as a liaison between project management and field employees on schedules, changes in scope of work, and conflict resolutions​
  • Experience with project MBE/​WBE/​DBE/SBE/etc. requirements and reporting​
  • Experience with project labor compliance and reporting​
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills​
  • Assures compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA safety standards​
  • Multi-tasks and stay focused on the big picture while addressing daily issues​
  • Help coordinate project sub-contractors for timely completion and quality​

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills are required. Ability to listen, engage, and influence is vital
  • 10+ years’ experience working on public works projects with both field and office responsibilities is required
  • Excel--Ability to navigate spreadsheets and utilize Excel as a tracking system required
  • A Driver’s License in good standing is required
Preferences:
  • Prior experience working in the L.A. region is preferred
