With this in mind, our backend engineers work on Product Engineering teams, which are dedicated to creating the most seamless, integrated products possible. You will report to the Product Engineering Team Lead working hybrid-onsite through our New York City headquarters.

We are hiring for the following product team(s):

• Domains Product: You'll join a team that is responsible for the entire Domain lifecycle from purchase, management to renewals. They aim to build a customer experience that is intuitive, performant and empowering for customers.
• Domains Growth: You'll join a team that is responsible for the top-of-the-funnel growth of all the products within the Domains group. This team owns the search experience on our frontsite, the pricing strategy and the conversion across all products.
• Checkouts + Payments Platform: On this team you'll provide an amazing checkout experience for customers purchasing Squarespace products. Your aim will be to help customers customize and purchase the subscription plan that best aligns with their needs and goals and ensure that easily accessible payment options are available.
• Platform Billing: The Billing team handles customer subscriptions, contracts, and renewals, and makes financial data available to our customers downstream. You'll work on a team that's building services that handle $700MM+ and millions of customers a year.

  You'll Get To…

• Write server-side code, create high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly.
• Collaborate with other engineers and designers to provide intuitive customer-focused experiences.
• Ensure the reliability of systems essential to Squarespace users and businesses powered by Squarespace.

Who We're Looking For

• 3+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Go or another Object-oriented language. Experience developing large-scale software.
• A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices.
• A sincere commitment to creating readable code and an understanding of database schema design, caching and scalability.
• A degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience.

Cash Compensation Range: $96,500 - $173,500 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
