Software Engineer, iOS (Bio Sites)

Squarespace is looking for an iOS Software Engineer to join our small, distributed mobile engineering team and work on Bio Sites, in an app with millions of active users around the globe. Bio Sites is Squarespace's link in biography product that enables creators, entrepreneurs, and businesses to share their entire worlds in just one link. As more brands begin on social media, a Bio Site is a lightweight way for our customers to connect their followers to their company, grow their brand, and monetize their work.

Our mobile team collaborates across platforms and delivers a terrific experience for Squarespace users when they're away from the desktop. You will work on the end-to-end development of an iOS application and the long-term vision of Squarespace on mobile devices.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and be based in Aveiro, Portugal, with 3 flexible days per week spent in office. You will be part of Squarespace's initial team in the country, and help grow our Portugal presence into a market reference.

You'll Get To…

• Translate requirements into well-engineered solutions including: new feature development, UI creation, debugging, and data modeling
• Work with a team of distributed engineers including our server-side engineering team
• Work with team members representing product, design, web development, and product marketing
• Develop applications with awareness of multiple software and hardware versions
• Provide documentation of bug fixes during test cycle
• Inspire and mentor software engineers with different levels of experience.

Who We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience with Swift and creating native iOS apps, with apps in the store to show
• Understand iOS UI/UX best practices, and a bias toward beautiful user experience and pixel perfect UIs
• Understand tradeoffs of different architectures such as MVP and MVVM
• Experience writing efficient and maintainable code
• Experience with memory management, network programming, concurrency and multi-threading
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
