Senior Backend QA Manual

Location: Limassol, Limassol, Cyprus

Spotware Systems is looking for a motivated Senior QA Engineer to join our highly-professional backend team in our Limassol office. The position requires collaborating with product managers and team members to meet strict deadlines. You will work closely with software developers regarding our product’s functionalities. You will be involved in functional testing, customer scenario testing, stress testing, performance testing, sanity testing and overall QA improvement process.

Key responsibilities:

• Performing requirements analysis.
• Communicating with product managers and developers.
• Testing design.
• Ongoing manual/automate functional/non-functional testing.
• Performing bug tracking and reporting.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance position (backend projects).
• 2+ years troubleshooting Java. Read and debug production Java to find the cause. Reading of Java is required.
• Real non-HTTP protocol testing: TCP, Protobuf, gRPC, FIX, or queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka). WebSocket alone doesn't count.
• Test design techniques (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, state transition).
• Requirements analysis (impact, traceability, functional & non-functional). Challenge vague specs before implementation.
• SQL beyond SELECT - joins, verification queries.
• Linux CLI + log reading (ssh, grep/zgrep over rotated logs).
• AI in daily work - use it (e.g. Claude) for analysis and tests, validate against source, logs, measurements. No blind trust.
• Fluency in Russian and B1+ in English language.

A plus to have:

• Java (or another language) test-automation coding - building/maintaining integration/E2E test frameworks.
• Performance testing (JMeter, VisualVM), Protobuf load profiles.
• PostgreSQL, Redis.
• Forex experience.
• Forex industry experience.
