What You’ll Do:

Step into the forefront of cloud innovation by joining the Spotter team as a Senior DevOps Engineer. This pivotal role calls for an accomplished professional with an in-depth understanding of AWS, complemented by proficiency in containers (Docker/Kubernetes), extensive experience with Terraform and passionate about the Trunk Based Development approach to software development. Your expertise will fuel our mission to design, implement, and streamline our high-performance AWS infrastructure.

  • Architect, deploy, and administer our AWS infrastructure, driving support for our diverse portfolio of applications and services.
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams to comprehend infrastructure requirements, and architect scalable, reliable solutions.
  • Facilitate efficient software delivery by implementing and managing robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Drive automation of infrastructure provisioning and management, leveraging your skills with Terraform.
  • Develop and fine-tune monitoring and alerting systems to ensure peak system availability and performance.
  • Utilize Kubernetes to streamline orchestration of containerized applications and enhance deployment management.
  • Continually refine our infrastructure for enhanced scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related complications, maintaining a commitment to minimal downtime and high system reliability.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging DevOps and cloud infrastructure technologies.

Who You Are:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ideally, have professional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
  • You understand, have practiced, embraced and are passionate about the Trunk Based Development approach to software development -- this is where we are going, so this is very important.
  • Profound experience in architecting and implementing AWS infrastructure including services like VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, IAM.
  • Comprehensive understanding of containerization technologies like Kubernetes and managing containerized environments.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • A solid grasp of CI/CD principles and experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, particularly in relation to cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and experience in implementing secure cloud environments.
  • Superior communication skills with the capacity to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities, and meeting project deadlines.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Culver City. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The overall market range for roles in this area of Spotter are typically: $100-$500K salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Spotter’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual discretionary bonus and equity.
