Director of AI Acceleration

Reports to: Chief Product Officer

About the Role

SpotOn is seeking a Director of AI Acceleration to increase organizational output by embedding AI into our internal operations.

This is not a research role. It is not an innovation lab experiment. It is a hands-on, high-agency leadership position focused on accelerating execution across Product, Engineering, Operations, Support, Sales, Marketing, and G&A.

Your mandate is simple and measurable:

Increase throughput across the company by intelligently deploying AI into high-leverage workflows.

You will identify opportunities, rapidly prototype solutions, validate ROI, and operationalize AI-driven systems that meaningfully compress cycle times and improve team effectiveness. Where appropriate, you will define the architecture and rationale for scaling successful pilots into production-grade systems.

This role is ideal for a builder-operator who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and knows how to translate emerging technology into measurable business impact.

What You’ll Do

Identify High-Impact Opportunities

  • Audit workflows across departments to uncover repetitive, high-friction, and high-volume processes.

  • Quantify impact in terms of time saved, output increased, or decision cycles shortened.

  • Maintain and prioritize a living AI opportunity roadmap aligned to company goals.

Prototype and Deploy

  • Rapidly build functional AI-powered tools and automations using APIs, workflow orchestration platforms, and lightweight scripting.

  • Launch pilots within days or weeks—not quarters.

  • Validate ROI and adoption before scaling.

Operationalize for Scale

  • Partner with Engineering to productionize successful initiatives.

  • Define guardrails, governance, data handling standards, and monitoring processes.

  • Establish clear handoff documentation and architecture plans when deeper investment is justified.

Drive Enablement and Adoption

  • Create internal playbooks and best practices for AI usage.

  • Run workshops and training sessions to elevate AI fluency across teams.

  • Serve as a cross-functional advisor to leaders seeking to accelerate their functions with AI.

Measure and Report Impact

  • Track adoption, cycle time reduction, and measurable throughput improvements.

  • Report impact to executive leadership.

  • Sunset low-impact experiments quickly and reallocate focus.

What Success Looks Like

Within 90 Days:

  • Top 10 AI leverage points identified.

  • Multiple pilots launched.

  • At least one visible, high-impact workflow accelerated.

Within 6 Months:

  • AI embedded in several cross-functional workflows.

  • Documented improvements in output velocity.

  • Internal AI enablement framework established.

Within 12 Months:

  • Measurable increase in organizational throughput.

  • AI embedded as a default tool across critical operations.

  • Clear roadmap for scaling AI capabilities further within SpotOn.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated experience building and deploying AI-powered workflows in real-world environments.

  • Technical fluency with LLM platforms, agents, automation/orchestration tools, and lightweight scripting.

  • Comfort operating independently in ambiguous environments.

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Bonus if you have:

  • Startup or founder experience.

  • Experience building internal tools or automation systems.

  • Real product examples you can share that you’ve built with AI.

  • A track record of reducing cycle times or materially increasing team output.
