THE CHALLENGE: 

As a Senior JAVA Developer in our Data Acquisition team we expect that you are passionate about your craft and already have a good understanding of modern development techniques. Additionally, you value simplicity, clean code, and clean architecture, you practice TDD (Test Driven Development), pair programming and always welcome feedback.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, test, build and deploy new applications or enhancements to existing applications 

• Analyse and integrate sports-oriented data from a variety of complex sources 

• Work with other technical staff to understand problems, develop specifications and resolve them. 

• Take part in the constant challenge to create a maintainable, well-designed architecture that is future proof. 

• Apply good practices throughout the software development lifecycle 

Requirements: 

• Extensive experience developing backend solutions in Java  

• Ability to write a clean, well-crafted, and tested code (XP, TDD)  

• Experience with Spring Framework 

• Experience with event streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) 

• Strong experience in SQL, especially MySQL, but also NoSQL 

• Strong experience with cloud-based applications and microservices (AWS, Kubernetes, Gitlab CI)  

• Agile mindset (focus on delivering working software, collaboration, and improvement)  

• Fluent in English (written and spoken) 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Highly self-motivated and self-driven 

• Flexible to adapt to changing priorities and able to work with tight deadlines 

• Committed to upholding the highest professional work standards and ethics

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:  

• Initial Screening: A brief conversation with our Talent Acquisition Partner to review your background, experience, and expectations 

• Technical Task: A take-home coding assignment designed to reflect our daily work, completed at your convenience 

• Technical Interview (90 minutes): An in-depth discussion on your submitted coding task, including a review of your thought process, live coding exercises, and a system design conceptual discussion 

• Cultural Fit Interview (60 minutes): A conversation with Senior Management to assess your ability to work in a matrix organization and collaborate with stakeholders 

We keep it simple and aim to wrap up the process within 3 weeks.
