Company Description

We’re the world’s leading sports technology company, at the intersection between sports, media, and betting. More than 1,700 sports federations, media outlets, betting operators, and consumer platforms across 120 countries rely on our know-how and technology to boost their business.

Job Description

ABOUT US:

Security is a core pillar of our business, and our Security Engineering squad plays a critical role in enabling both IT Security and Information Security across the company.

The Security Engineering squad acts as an internal service provider, delivering and operating security tooling and controls used by security-focused teams and wider engineering units. The team works closely with SOC, infrastructure, and platform teams to ensure that security services are robust, scalable, and fit for purpose.

THE CHALLENGE:

As a Security Engineer, you will take ownership of security tooling and services that underpin our Security Operations capabilities. You’ll design, implement, and continuously improve technical security solutions, ensuring they are reliable, compliant, and aligned with business needs.

You’ll work hands-on with security logs, SIEM platforms, cloud infrastructure, and automation, collaborating closely with other security teams to enable effective monitoring, detection, and response across our environment.

This is an internal role, focused on strengthening our security posture through tooling, automation, and high-quality security data.

This is an internal enablement role, focused on strengthening our security posture through tooling, automation, and high-quality security data rather than direct operational alert triage. This role does not involve shift-based SOC work. Instead, you will build and operate the tooling, platforms, and data pipelines that Security Operations and other security teams rely on.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take ownership of a defined set of security toolsets and services (e.g. SIEM, NIDS, SOAR, WAF).
  • Design and implement security engineering solutions based on business and security requirements

  • Maintain and continuously improve security services to ensure stability, performance, and maturity

  • Monitor service health, availability, usage, and license utilisation

  • Drive improvements in security monitoring and detection capabilities, including owning security log onboarding pipelines for SOC detection use cases

  • Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to identify, ingest, normalise, and optimise security log data from diverse systems

  • Build and maintain internal security tools, integrations, and automation (primarily in Python) to support security operations and engineering workflows

  • Adapt and evolve services based on business changes, user feedback, and self-driven recommendations

  • Act as a primary technical point of contact for internal users and provide ongoing or on-demand training

  • Ensure tooling and services remain compliant with audit and regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO, SOX)

  • Conduct Proof of Concept / Proof of Value activities by researching technologies, evaluating vendors, and testing new solutions

  • Support product and vendor selection through planning, implementation, and technical documentation

  • Contribute to security governance by embedding security principles into system design and business-as-usual processes through tooling, automation, and guardrails

  • Provide expert guidance to internal teams and stay current with industry trends and best practices

ABOUT YOU:

You are a hands-on security professional who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and continuous learning. You are comfortable working independently, but thrive when collaborating closely with other security and engineering teams.

Required experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a security-related role

  • Strong experience working with security logs and data onboarding for SOC environments

  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g. Splunk, Elastic / OpenSearch).

  • Familiarity with cloud and virtualisation technologies (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet or similar)

  • Some scripting skills, particularly Python (Bash / PowerShell also valued)

  • Solid grasp of fundamental security concepts (CIA triad, basic cryptography, security architecture)

  • Experience with industry-standard security tools for implementation and administration

  • Ability to take responsibility, self-learn, and drive improvements proactively

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Fluency in English

OUR OFFER:

  • A collaborative environment with colleagues from all over the world (Engineering offices in Europe, Asia and US)

  • Ability to shape your own workday and career via a clearly defined professional and personal development plan

  • Opportunity to work with senior leadership team and develop yourself within an inspiring and fast-growing company

  • Vibrant and inclusive community, including Women in Tech and Pride groups which welcome all participants

  • Flexible working hours

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  1. Recruiter Screen – Initial conversation with our Talent Acquisition Partner.

  2. Technical Interview – discussion focusing on security engineering, tooling, and experience.

  3. Final Interview – in depth interview with Security Head, covering technical knowledge, collaboration, ownership, and team fit.
