Sportradar, the global leader in understanding and leveraging the power of sports data and digital content, is seeking a Backend Go/ Golang Developer for the Audio-Visual team in Trondheim or Oslo. ​Our streams reach millions of end-users every day - including a large set of premium OTT platforms and partners like ATP and NBA and other major sports leagues and federations.

The Audiovisual engineering teams in Trondheim support the business needs of the AV vertical for content and client management, analytics, live operations, and post-match reporting. Working as a part of the AV Tribe, you will be responsible for implementing backend applications together with team members who receive all our live signals from venues for more than 1.500 matches per day in a global infrastructure, and that automates the monitoring of both incoming- and delivered signals from our advanced video-backends.

We are seeing an increasing demand for our video-streaming product portfolio as we cover sporting events like NBA and ATP to hundreds of clients, requiring high uptime and a global presence in multiple cloud data centres. You will be involved in delivering hundreds of TB of video content daily to millions of end-users all over the world, as well as live clips and VOD's. Most of the daily tasks involve working with Go, core industry libraries of video transport and processing, AI coding assistants, Kubernetes, Gitlab CI/CD, AWS S3, EC2, and other tools.

We are looking for someone who has a clear passion for development and creating state-of-the-art solutions, an interested in streaming video, has a sound working knowledge of Go as well as good skills in databases and MySQL, knows new and current technological trends, designs and development processes, keeps an eye on results correctness as well as solution testability and maintainability.

THE CHALLENGE:

• Work with the following tech stack: Go, GitLab, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Databases, S3, CDNs like Akamai and Edgio, SRT, etc.
• Work with the latest Go features and tools in a modern codebase.
• Participate in Code Reviews and writing tests – we are a quality-focused company
• Working with Generative AI coding-assistants
• Help the team understand where modification is needed and how to write sustainable software
• Contribute to developing new solutions, sharing your ideas and opinions, and implementing them
• Have a space to develop your skills during our self-development time program

Qualifications

• First proven professional software development experience in backend technologies like Go, or similar related languages like C or C++.
• Passion for developing quality software - that will run 24/7 to deliver 1500+ live streamed sports games per day
• Experience with Go Testing Frameworks
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS services like EKS, RDS, Lambda, etc.
• Good communication skills in English
• A problem-solving attitude, i.e. not just focused on writing code, but on tackling complex problems and determining how best to solve them.
• Familiarity with API development
• Willingness to practice TDD and pair programming
• Understanding of software architecture principles
• Proactively identify improvement areas and propose changes with clear benefits to the team
