Responsibilities
- Develop, retain, and hire a software engineering team, focused on making our industry leading technology even more valuable to our customers.
- Plan and support career development through one-on-one conversations.
- Champion an atmosphere of continuous improvement by serving as a leader, mentor, and technical advisor.
- Partnering with your peer managers, Technical Operations, Release Management Team, and many others to improve reliability of Splunk releases.
- Stay organized and communicate your team’s plans, roadblocks, and wins to the organization.
What You provide
- Demonstrated experience leading positive change, hiring and empowering people, cultivating innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams
- Experience in building software abstractions and tooling to enable developer velocity.
- Experience in CI/CD governance, monitoring and metrics driven architecture.
- Own end-to-end availability and performance of critical services to reduce operational overhead
- Drive for Automation. You constantly challenge the status quo and are driven to automate manual processes.You inspire teams to embrace this philosophy.
- Cloud, container and virtualization experience. Innovating and scaling secure services on-prem and different cloud providers is a plus. You will use Splunk, SignalFX, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP, Gitlab and other best in class technology.
- Foster growth. You will meet with team members on a regular basis, help plan and support career development, and recruit top-tier developers
- BS/MS degree in EE or CS or a related technical field.
- 2+ years proven experience in managing software teams (either through infrastructure, developer tools, or products)
- Desire to learn and adapt. You will constantly be learning new areas and new technologies.

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $174,800.00 - 240,350.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $157,320.00 - 216,315.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $139,840.00 - 192,280.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
