As a Backend Engineer at Spark Networks, you will be a key player in developing and optimizing our platform. Your mission will involve designing new features, improving existing codebase, and ensuring the operability of our applications. You will work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to deliver maximum value for our customers and contribute to our continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Product Development: Design and implement new features, improve existing codebase in accordance with our agile practices (Kanban/Scrum, XP, CI, TDD, Pair Programming). Collaborate closely with the product team.
- Application Operability: Work in a DevOps environment to ensure fast and stable software delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Learn new things, experiment, and have the courage to fail fast. Bring your strengths to work and use them to improve the team.
- Feature Implementation: Collaborate with other Spark teams and product to implement new features.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize application performance to ensure smooth user experiences.

Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience developing large-scale production applications in Java or NodeJS.
- Successfully designed or implemented medium-sized projects.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture.
- Familiarity with AWS and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Cloudflare, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Sonarqube, and Gitlab is a plus.
- Development/scripting skills in Golang, Python, or Bash are a plus.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
