The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a motivated mid-level Multidisciplinary Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining system architecture, coordinating interdisciplinary engineering efforts, managing requirements, risks, interfaces, and configurations, and ensuring cohesive technical execution across multiple teams. This mid-level role is ideal for candidates with a broad technical foundation across multiple engineering disciplines, strong analytical and communication skills, and a desire to contribute to team-based problem-solving in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

The Strategic & Military Space Division delivers advanced satellite and sensor systems that support the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Key Responsibilities

• Performs systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle, including requirements development, design, integration, verification, validation, and test
• Gathers and analyzes system-level requirements, evaluate design alternatives, perform systems analyses, and decompose solutions into actionable engineering requirements and tasks
• Develops and maintains system architecture, interfaces, requirements, and technical baselines
• Develops verification approaches and maintains requirements traceability to ensure requirements are satisfied and verified
• Identifies, tracks, and supports mitigation of technical risks and issues
• Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation required for effective planning, execution, and technical reviews
• Supports system integration, test planning, and execution
• Communicate technical recommendations, status, issues, and risks to engineering teams, program leadership, customers, and other stakeholders
• Participates in technical reviews and contributes to resolution of cross-disciplinary technical issues

• Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance
• BS in engineering or related science and 4-10 years of relevant experience or a MS and 2-8 years of relevant experience
• Basic knowledge of multiple fields: mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, software, controls, astrodynamics, navigation, propulsion, or guidance
• Experience with requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and verification
• Experience with system architecture, interface definition and management, trade studies, risk management, and configuration management
• Knowledge of system engineering tools and analysis methods
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts clearly
• Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment
• Ability to travel as required

• Existing TS/SCI clearance
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes.
• Experience supporting technical planning, cost, or schedule development
• Experience with small satellite programs including risk mitigations, hardware development, and testing
• Understanding of the space environment

• $90,000-$150,000
• This range serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as role, level, location, market conditions, and individual qualifications, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The range displayed in the job advertisement reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries across all US locations.
