Test Associate Engineer – SonicOS (Firewall QA & Automation)
Experience: Fresh Graduates (0–1 years)
Location: Pune
Product: SonicOS
Role Overview:
We are looking for enthusiastic fresh graduates who are passionate about Networking, Cybersecurity, AI/ML and Automation to join our SonicOS QA team.
As a Test Associate Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers to test next-generation firewall features, build automation scripts, and ensure high product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute functional and regression test cases for SonicOS features
- Learn and contribute to automation frameworks and test scripts
- Assist in converting manual test cases into automated tests
- Perform basic debugging using logs and tools like tcpdump/Wireshark
- Report defects clearly and track them using tools like JIRA
- Work with Dev and QA teams to validate fixes
- Participate in Agile/Scrum activities
Required Skills:
- Basic understanding of Networking concepts: TCP/IP, Routing, NAT, VLANs, TCP/UDP, L7 protocols such as FTP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, Telnet, SSH
- Fundamental knowledge of Cybersecurity/Firewalls (VPN, IPS, etc.)
- Programming knowledge in Python
- Familiarity with automation tools (any one: Selenium / Playwright / PyTest / Robot)
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix commands
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
Good to Have (Optional)
- Exposure to packet analysis tools (Wireshark/tcpdump)
- Academic/project experience in networking or security
- Basic understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git)
- Awareness of AI tools for productivity
Soft Skills
- Strong willingness to learn and grow
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and curiosity to debug issues
Education:
- B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science / IT / Electronics or related fields
