System Test Engineer (Sunnyvale, CA)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Define testing strategies by working with product, development and other teams across the company. 
• Review and critique of product requirement specifications, design and functional specifications.
• Develop detailed test plans per the specifications and execute test cases via a combination of automation or manual testing. Triage integration issues reported by partners and field on-site problems reported during real vehicle testing.
• Reproduce problems in house and assist the development team to identify root cause and solutions. 
• Report failures to the development team by filing failure tickets.
• Support and maintain the CI/CD pipeline, execute test cases, analyze test results and triage test failures.
• Escalate potential issues (Software, Hardware, Resources) to Project Manager / Executive team.
• Track all necessary testing activities, including schedule, resources, and requirements, defects and resolution so that there is a clear alignment across key stakeholders. Identify areas of improvements in test coverage, methodology and provide suggestions.
• Developing and maintaining Python scripts contributing to the automation test framework to efficiently validate the features and releases of the software.
• Develop and implement new automation and manual test cases based on internal and/or customer requirements and end-to-end solution test plans/cases.
• Improve and maintain the Linux-based integrated automation test framework and utilities that go along with it.
• Help development teams in porting test cases to new platforms.
• Setup and run end-to-end tests within the embedded test environment, as well as the cloud-to-vehicle test environment, document and triage results.

Qualifications and Experience

• MS  degree  in  Electrical/Computer Engineering,  Communication  Engineering  or  related  field  (or  foreign  equiv).
• 3  years experience in the automotive industry with the following, which can be gained concurrently:  experience working on networking protocols, security, and cloud services.
• Experience working on Automotive networking infrastructure  such  as  CAN,  CANFD,  LIN  and  Ethernet communication.
• Experience with tools like iPerf networking tool, Vector CANoe, Peak System, Testrail, Jenkins and JIRA for CI/CD.
• Experience working on ISO 26262 and maintaining Python scripts in auto industry,
• Experience with In-vehicle testing and HIL setup testing.
