Sonatus is a leader in providing technologies and software to global OEMs to build software-defined vehicles. We are looking for a highly motivated Engineering Operations Engineer to join our fast-growing team. As a part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and products, from conception to deployment. This position can be in our Headquarters, located in Sunnyvale, CA or in the surrounding areas of Mississauga, Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and enhance tools and processes to increase efficiencies and overall yield improvements in engineering productivity.
  • Participate in leading our software release engineering processes for our cloud applications.
  • Assist in build and test pipeline development and maintenance.
  • Develop tools for process automation with Python, bash, Ansible, or similar.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment process, ensuring fast and reliable application releases.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and trends and evaluate their applicability to our environment.
  • Lead initiatives to improve cloud infrastructure, adopting new tools and processes to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of cloud operations policies, procedures, reports, and best practices.
  • Document changes, new tools & processes, and create dashboards and reports.
  • Be able to think outside the box and from a customer's perspective on how to improve existing processes and come up with innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with ISO standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 27001, etc.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing best practices and guiding them in their professional development.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 8+ years of working experience in EngOps/DevOps/IT, networking, cloud operations or engineering, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience with multi-cloud environments, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Expertise in cloud infrastructure management and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef).
  • Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, Argo CD, Spinnaker, GitHub Actions, or similar).
  • Proficient with Git / GitHub, and branching strategies.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
  • Good foundational knowledge of Linux / Unix system environment and administration.
  • Good understanding of Ethernet networking (plus troubleshooting), file systems, storage, logging, monitoring, tracing and alert.
  • Excellent problem-solving, technical, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with ISO27001 and ISO9001.
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
  • Experience with OSS vulnerability scanners, such as Black Duck, Snyk, or similar.
  • Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools/frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack. OpenTelemetry).
  • Hands-on experience with x86-based workstations & servers.
  • Verbal / written communication skills in Korean.
