Summary
You will be the technical leader responsible for advanced elemental analysis of fluids using Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS) techniques. This role oversees method development, validation, troubleshooting, and data interpretation for complex sample matrices. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in inorganic analytical chemistry and supports quality, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional technical initiatives.
Responsibilities
You will support our customers in the pulp & paper and industrial water treatment industries, as well as supporting our internal research and development and production activities.
You will lead development, optimization, and validation of analytical methods for fluid matrices
You will troubleshoot instrumentation, spectral interferences, matrix effects, and performance issues.
You will oversee daily ICP laboratory operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
You will develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentation.
You will mentor junior scientists and laboratory personnel and provide technical training on ICP theory, instrumentation, and data analysis.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field // M.S. with 8+ years of relevant ICP experience // B.S. with 12+ years of progressively responsible ICP experience
Extensive hands-on experience with ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS instrumentation.
Strong background in trace metals analysis in complex fluid matrices.
Proven experience in method development and validation.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and spectral interferences.
Experience with LIMS and laboratory data systems.
