Assistant Manager Engineering

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Department: Maintenance Engineer

• Oversee day-to-day Engineering & Maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability and minimum downtime.

• Manage installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of BMS, HVAC/AC systems, cold rooms, deep freezers, boilers, dishwashing machines, DG sets, RO plants, kitchen equipment and other MEP systems.

• Lead, guide and allocate responsibilities to Shift Engineers and technicians, fostering a responsive, service-oriented team.

• Drive preventive maintenance schedules, breakdown management, safety standards and maintenance documentation.

• Coordinate with vendors, evaluate equipment requirements, negotiate competitive rates and support procurement decisions.

• Liaise with relevant authorities and utility providers to ensure statutory compliance and timely renewals.

• Attend to guest and operational engineering complaints with urgency and professionalism.

• Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, cost optimisation and improved engineering performance.

• Lead departmental operations in the absence of the Chief Engineer, ensuring business continuity.

What We’re Looking For

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or relevant Engineering discipline.

• Relevant hands-on experience in hotel, hospitality, premium F&B or commercial facilities engineering.

• Strong technical knowledge of building services, HVAC, electrical systems and kitchen equipment.

• Experience in team supervision, vendor management, preventive maintenance and statutory compliance.

• A proactive problem-solver with strong ownership, communication and leadership skills.
