Job Description
Who We Are: At Nicoya Health, we're on a mission to use AI to improve health results with data-driven
solutions. We've developed a proprietary health data analytics and agents platform that empowers
healthcare and longevity professionals, researchers, corporate wellness programs, and top athletes to
transform from reactive to proactive healthcare. Our innovative software integrates advanced wearables,
diagnostic data, labs, and EHRs, utilizing powerful AI-based analytics to create customizable tools across
diverse markets — from integrative health and concierge medicine to clinical research, personal
performance and longevity. We help modern healthcare practices turn overwhelming data streams into
clear, meaningful intelligence that improves patient outcomes and drives practice efficiency.
Who You Are: You are a thoughtful, systems-minded Product Designer who thrives in complex product
spaces and enjoys turning dense workflows and data into clear, intuitive experiences. You’re comfortable
balancing user needs, business goals, and engineering constraints, and you naturally think in components,
design systems, and scalable patterns. You care deeply about usability and clarity—and you can design
experiences that remain excellent across platforms and form factors: web (desktop → iPad → phone) and
mobile apps. You have strong product taste for consumer-grade experiences and sweat the details that
make an app feel modern, trustworthy, and simple.
What You Will Do: As a Product Designer at Nicoya Health, you will help shape and scale our product
experience across web and mobile. On the web side, you will work across core workflows such as
dashboards, analytics, configuration, onboarding, and tooling. In parallel, we are building a B2C app
designed as a user’s daily companion—and we’re aiming for an award-winning, best-in-class consumer
mobile experience across iOS and Android. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and
clinical stakeholders from discovery through execution: research, information architecture, user flows,
prototyping, UI design, and iterative validation.
Qualifications
Core Responsibilities:
• Design end-to-end product experiences across web and mobile, from user flows and information
architecture to polished, production-ready UI.
• Design for complex workflows and data-rich interfaces (dashboards, analytics, settings,
onboarding), making them approachable and clear.
• Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and interactive prototypes (Figma) to
communicate intent and validate solutions.
• Own responsive behavior for web across breakpoints (desktop / iPad / phone) and ensure
usability on smaller screens.
• Partner with Product Management to clarify requirements, define scope and milestones, and
prioritize design work across web and mobile releases.
• Partner with engineers to ensure feasible, scalable implementation and high-quality UI execution
on both web and mobile.
• Contribute to and evolve the design system: components, patterns, typography, spacing,
accessibility, and documentation.
• Plan and conduct usability testing and concept testing; synthesize insights into actionable
improvements.
• Present work to stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and drive alignment through clear rationale
and artifacts.
What We Need from You:
• 7+ years of product design experience across both web and mobile (strong web foundation and
hands-on native or cross-platform mobile app experience required).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, UX problem-solving, and polished UI craft
across complex products.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma (auto-layout, components, variants, prototyping).
• Solid understanding of user-centered design, information architecture, and accessibility (WCAG
fundamentals).
• Experience collaborating with engineering on implementation details (handoff, edge cases,
constraints, QA/design polish).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-moving
environment.
What Would Make You Stand Out:
• Shipped B2C mobile apps (ideally live in the App Store and/or Google Play) and can articulate
what made them successful.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver best-in-class mobile craft—high polish, strong interaction design,
and attention to detail.
• Strong intuition for “modern app” quality: navigation patterns, onboarding, trust, clarity, and
delightful micro-interactions.
• Experience designing healthcare, regulated, analytics, or other data-heavy products.
• Experience building design systems at scale (design tokens, component libraries, governance,
documentation, and strong handoff practices).
• Experience designing AI-powered products and translating AI outputs into clear, actionable UX.
• Startup / fast-growing product org experience.
Additional Information
Nicoya is building a consumer-grade product across mobile and web: a B2C (non-enterprise) app that will be available on iOS and Android and designed to be a user’s daily companion. Their quality bar is set by best-in-class consumer apps (like Uber): easy to use, crystal clear, and built to do exactly what it’s meant to do, exceptionally well. Strong mobile and web experience is important, and having shipped a modern app to the App Store and/or Google Play is a big plus.
