Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day administration of the site LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls, and VPNs supporting 185+ users.
• Configure and maintain firewall policies, VLANs, access rules, ISP links, and failover/redundancy.
• Administer the Windows Server environment – Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services.
• Manage Microsoft Azure and Entra ID resources – virtual machines, storage, networking, NSGs, and conditional access.
• Proactively monitor network, server, and bandwidth health; perform root-cause analysis and capacity planning.
• Own backup schedules, restoration testing, and site-level DR/BCP planning and documentation.

• Administer Microsoft 365 – Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, licensing, and mail-flow/security policies.
• Manage endpoints through Intune/SCCM – imaging, application deployment, compliance, and device policies.
• Drive monthly patch management and ensure antivirus/EDR coverage and compliance across all endpoints.
• Handle end-to-end onboarding/offboarding (laptops, accounts, access provisioning and revocation) for joiners and exits.

• Act as the L2/L3 escalation point for complex and critical incidents at the Hyderabad office.
• Share the ticket queue with the existing IT engineer, ensuring SLA adherence and continuous coverage during leave, shifts, and peak periods.
• Carry out problem management for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes.
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports on ticket volumes, SLA performance, and infrastructure health.
• Maintain the IT knowledge base and guide L1/helpdesk or support staff where applicable.

• Implement and enforce security baselines, access reviews, USB/DLP controls, and password/MFA policies.
• Support internal and external audits (ISO 27001 / SOC 2) by maintaining controls and producing evidence.
• Respond to security incidents, phishing reports, and vulnerability findings in a timely manner.

• Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware, software, and licenses for all 185+ users and shared devices.
• Manage the full asset lifecycle – procurement, assignment, repair, refresh, and e-waste disposal.
• Coordinate with vendors for procurement, AMC/warranty renewals, and SLAs; obtain quotes and prepare comparisons for approval.
• Work with the Facilities team on IT requirements for seating changes/expansion, structured cabling, meeting-room AV, CCTV, and access control systems.

• Maintain network diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, asset registers, and configuration records.
• Automate repetitive administrative tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools.
• Collaborate with IT teams at other locations to standardise tools, processes, and configurations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or system engineering.
• Experience independently supporting an office or site of 150+ users.
• Proven experience working as an L2/L3 escalation point and managing site IT independently.

• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Solid administration experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Working experience with Microsoft Azure – VMs, VNets, NSGs, storage, and Azure Backup.
• Strong networking knowledge – TCP/IP, VLANs, routing and switching, Wi-Fi controllers, firewalls, and site-to-site/client VPNs.
• Experience with endpoint management (Intune/SCCM), patch management, and antivirus/EDR tools.
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing tools (e.g., Freshservice, , Jira Service Management).

• Certifications such as Microsoft AZ-104 / MD-102 / MS-102, CCNA, Fortinet NSE 4, or ITIL v4 Foundation.
• PowerShell scripting for automation of user, device, and M365 administration.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as PRTG, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or ManageEngine OpManager.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls such as FortiGate, Sophos, or Cisco.
• Exposure to virtualisation (Hyper-V / VMware) and backup tools such as Veeam.
• Working knowledge of Linux server basics.
• Experience supporting ISO 27001 / SOC 2 audits and IT security controls.
• Familiarity with CCTV, biometric access control, and Microsoft Teams Rooms / conferencing AV.
• Prior experience in an IT services or software company, ideally in a growing or multi-location setup.

• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage the site independently when required.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English with users, vendors, and leadership.
• Collaborative team player who can mentor and support peers and junior staff.
• Willingness to support maintenance windows, on-call, or weekend activities as needed.
