Role Summary
We are looking for a security-focused Senior Infrastructure & Security Engineer to own and lead enterprise infrastructure operations across cloud and on-premises environments at Softobiz Technologies. This is a hands-on leadership role with a dual mandate:

  • Primary (Core IT Operations): Ensure high availability, security, compliance, and operational excellence across all infrastructure. This includes Microsoft 365 administration, Azure cloud infrastructure, network security, endpoint protection, patching, ITSM processes, and audit readiness.
  • Secondary (Proactive & Strategic): During operational steady-state, drive cloud optimization, infrastructure automation, AI-powered tooling adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives that add measurable value to the organization.

This role supports a multi-site, multi-geography setup spanning India, Australia, and the US. You will be expected to operate with high ownership, collaborate across time zones, and mentor junior team members.

Compliance Frameworks- ISO 27001 / SOC 2 audit exposure, Backup & DR planning- Must Have
Networking- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Routing, VPN (IPSec/SSL)- Must Have
SD-WAN- SD-WAN architecture and management- Preferred
Monitoring & SIEM- Sentinel / Splunk / Graylog, Patch Management tools- Preferred
Automation- PowerShell scripting, Azure CLI- Must Have
AI & Emerging Tech- Microsoft Copilot for Security, AI-driven monitoring/AIOps, AI-assisted scripting- Preferred

Key Responsibilities
Area 1 – Infrastructure & Cloud
    • Administer Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and manage licensing.
    • Manage Azure AD / Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access policies, and hybrid identity configurations.
    • Administer and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks (VNets, NSGs, load balancers), storage, and resource governance.
    • Manage Azure subscriptions, cost optimization, tagging policies, and budgets.
    • Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, and endpoint environments (Windows/macOS).
    • Maintain infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks.

Area 2 – Network & Security
    • Manage enterprise firewalls (policy configuration, VPN, NAT, IPS/IDS) across Sophos, Fortinet, or equivalent platforms.
    • Administer LAN/WAN infrastructure, switches, routers, VLANs, and secure remote access.
    • Manage EDR/XDR platforms, endpoint hardening, and threat response workflows.
    • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration test coordination, and remediation tracking.

Area 3 – Patch Management & Compliance
    • Execute structured patch management cycles with a target of 95%+ compliance.
    • Publish compliance dashboards and security posture reports for leadership visibility.
    • Maintain risk registers and support ongoing ISO 27001 surveillance audits and SOC 2 compliance processes.
    • Conduct periodic access reviews, privileged account monitoring, and policy enforcement.

Area 4 – ITSM & Operations
    • Own Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management processes.
    • Ensure SLA adherence, conduct trend analysis (MTTR, repeat incidents), and drive root cause resolution.
    • Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and internal teams for timely issue resolution.

Area 5 – Backup & Disaster Recovery
    • Monitor backup health, conduct periodic restore testing, and maintain DR documentation.
    • Ensure RTO/RPO objectives are met and DR plans are current and tested.

Area 6 – Cloud Infrastructure & Optimization (Secondary Mandate)
When core operations are stable, invest time in strengthening and scaling the organization’s cloud infrastructure:
    • Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure including VMs, VNets, storage accounts, load balancers, and application gateways.
    • Architect and maintain hybrid connectivity between on-premises environments and Azure (VPN, ExpressRoute, hub-spoke networking).
    • Implement Azure governance frameworks – subscriptions, management groups, resource tagging, policies, and cost management.
    • Evaluate and adopt Azure PaaS/IaaS services to modernize workloads and reduce infrastructure overhead.
    • Build Infrastructure-as-Code templates (Terraform/Bicep/ARM) for repeatable and consistent cloud deployments.
    • Monitor cloud resource utilization, identify optimization opportunities, and drive cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications & Certifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
    • 7–10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure and security operations.
    • Demonstrated experience managing multi-site or multi-geography IT environments (preferred).
    • Experience mentoring junior team members and collaborating across distributed teams.

Preferred Certifications:
    • Microsoft: AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), SC-300 (Identity & Access), SC-200 (Security Operations)
    • ITIL Foundation
    • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor / Lead Implementer
    • Any recognized security certification (CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent)

    • Comfortable mentoring junior IT staff and leading cross-team collaboration during incidents.
