Primary Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) – SAP Hybris to play a pivotal role in guiding and optimizing our client's eCommerce platform. This career-defining opportunity with a Tier 1 Blue Chip Australian client is ideal for professionals who bring deep technical knowledge, strategic insight, and leadership to the table.
As the SME, you will act as the go-to authority on the SAP Hybris platform, advising on architecture, solution design, integration, and best practices. You will work closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure the platform’s scalability, performance, and alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical and functional SME for SAP Hybris across B2B/B2C implementations.
- Define and validate architectural solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams working on Hybris and integrated platforms.
- Guide the end-to-end lifecycle of Hybris solutions including planning, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Ensure code and solution quality through architectural reviews, best practices, and governance protocols.
- Lead or support platform upgrades, version migrations, and integration of new technologies including Spartacus and microservices.
- Support the setup of Hybris development environments and cloud infrastructure, particularly on SAP CCv2 and Azure.
- Manage vendor collaboration, coordinate with external teams, and oversee incident and problem resolution processes.
- Contribute to the enhancement of IT policies, security practices, and performance optimization frameworks related to Hybris.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives across the eCommerce platform.
Experience & Skills
Essential:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Hybris development and architecture.
- Hands-on AI development experience, including usage of Copilot CLI.
- Strong expertise in SAP Composable Storefront (Spartacus).
- Proven experience with Hybris accelerators (B2B/B2C), OCC, Backoffice, ASM, WCMS, Solr, and complex integrations.
- Strong understanding of eCommerce business processes, architecture patterns, and cloud-based deployments (SAP CCv2).
- Experience in BAU support, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency in handling high-priority incidents.
- Extensive experience in platform migrations, particularly Hybris 2208+ and Spartacus upgrades.
- Deep technical expertise in Java, Spring, RESTful services, and microservices architecture.
- Proven ability to lead development teams, conduct technical design reviews, and provide architecture governance.
- Proficient with tools such as Git, SonarCloud, Dynatrace, Postman, SoapUI, and agile collaboration tools like Jira.
- Strong confidence in communicating with external stakeholders, aligning technical recommendations with business objectives.
Desirable:
- Exposure to other eCommerce platforms like Shopify, Commercetools, BigCommerce.
- Familiarity with PIM, ERP (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics), CDN integration, and web analytics tools.
- Understanding of Retail Applications and multi-channel commerce ecosystems.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Kibana.
