Software Engineer, Issues team (Go)

Our Opportunity

The Issues team at Snyk is a highly collaborative team of engineers that helps organizations with the massive scale and complexity of their security data. We build APIs for customers in order to better understand their security posture by integrating and aggregating vulnerability, risk prioritization and problem information. Our work fuels the prioritization and reporting tools used by teams across Snyk and by our customers.

We're looking for a passionate and talented Software Engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges. You'll play a key role in architecting and implementing data enrichment pipelines that help teams transform raw data into clear, actionable intelligence. Your work will impact how customers understand and address their security vulnerabilities. You’ll Spend Your Time:

• Designing and developing scalable, resilient Go services that power our Issues services at Snyk ensuring seamless integration with Snyk’s broader platform.
• Helping design and implement scalable event and data pipelines to ensure reliable delivery and ingestion, and to support transformation and enrichment of security information.
• Actively participating in team planning, using the Shape-Up process, refine project scope and align requirements and objectives to customer needs.
• Collaborating with teammates to evolve existing implementations, while championing best practices for Go development, reliability and maintainability.
• Trouble-shooting complex problems in data pipelines and distributed systems
• Contributing to API design discussions, ensuring our interfaces are intuitive, well-documented, and empower customers to make informed security decisions
• Staying on top of emerging technologies and industry trends, advocating for adoption of new tools and techniques that enhance our team's effectiveness.

What You’ll Need:

• 2+ years' experience in software development
• Familiarity and comfort working in Golang
• A passion for working through and solving complex technical challenges
• Production experience with large scale distributed systems
• Ability to work sustainably and iteratively

We’d be Lucky if You: 

• Have production-level experience in Golang
• Have experience with data processing pipelines, and distributed systems
